Public Amenities on the City's North Shore

Beaches & Parks

Loyola Park (6400-7200 north) includes a field house, a baseball field, a pier at Pratt, neighborhood beaches at Columbia, North Shore, and Albion, and the new lake front walk on the Loyola campus (between Arthur and Sheridan Road.) The land for this park was first acquired by the 'Town of North Shore' Park District in 1917.

Osterman Beach (5800 North at Ardmore) this is the northermost tip of the gigantic Lincoln Park system of beaches, with it's amazing lakefront bike path, and assorted other unique public venues.

Foster Avenue Beach (5200 North) has a nice beach and is connected (via Simonds Drive,) to the much larger park at Montrose harbor (4400 north) in Uptown. There is a bird sanctuary at Montrose Point.

Bike Paths
The lakefront bicycle path extends for fifteen miles all the way down to the cultural center in South Shore of the City of Chicago. It can be accessed on the City's north shore at Ardmore Avenue, east of Sheridan Road.
